Parts | Nitrogen in Your TIres
Why Nitrogen?
If you are one of the 85% of people who don’t regularly check tire pressure, you need nitrogen.  Let Scougall Motors replace the air in your tires with nitrogen for a more worry-free and safer driving experience.
If you need convincing, read the info below on why nitrogen is the way to go:

Due to it’s larger molecule size, nitrogen is less permeable than oxygen and thus remains in your tire longer.

The air we breathe,
the air that’s in your tires.

A tire filled with air
can lose 1.5 psi a month

It’s not about the nitrogen. It’s about reducing oxygen, water vapor and other gases.

By reducing the percentage of oxygen, water vapor and other contaminants in your tires, they tires will maintain proper pressure longer than with compressed air.

Oxygen reacts and damages inner liners and belts; nitrogen does not Small bits of corrosion from wheels can prevent valves from seating properly, leading to air loss.

Proper tire pressure is a big deal. Maintain it with nitrogen and you’ll see many benefits.

Increased Fuel Efficiency
Longer Tire Life
Increased Safety
Improved TPMS Performance
Longer Rim Life

Why not eliminate all oxygen and water vapor? What purity of nitrogen do I need?

Research by tire manufacturers has shown that nitrogen purity beyond a certain point does not provide additional benefits. In fact, you can get all the benefits of nitrogen with a purity between 93% and 98%.

Bridgestone / Firestone
Ford Motor Company
Goodyear Tire

Draining water from
air lines helps, but
without a very efficient
air dryer there’s probably
a lot of water in your
compressed air

The air around is
is full of water
vapor or humidity.
Compressing air
concentrates it.

Who else is using nitrogen?

Indy Racing / NASCAR
Commercial Airlines
US Government
Food Processing / Packaging

Nitrogen helps race teams more accurately predict tire pressure fluctuations.
