At Scougall Motors, we care deeply about our Fort Macleod community. That’s why in 2025 we are celebrating 100 years in business by donating $100,000+ back to Fort Macleod’s local organizations. It’s important to us to not only be a part of our community, but to be a part of the reason it is thriving.


SCOUGALL MOTORS JOURNEY OVER THE YEARS

1925
George H Scougall started selling cars in the Old Palace Cafe & had a warehouse (holding 4 cars) across the street where ATB Financial is. Scougall’s sold 8 new cars & 2 used cars





1937
John Davis Sr started his automotive career at Scougall



1973
The ‘old’ Scougall Motors building burnt to the ground


1975
John Davis Jr moved back to Fort Macleod to work with his father John Davis Sr



1979
A young, energetic Hank Arnoldussen was hired by John Davis Jr to work in parts. After allot of curbing & possibly …..some begging Hank was moved into selling and eventually Sales Manager.


1989
John Davis Jr had an opportunity to move to Lethbridge and buy the Enerson store which is the Davis Buick GMC we know today.
At this time he sold to Hank: on Oct 20, 1989 a grand opening event was held and about 200 people attended,







2008
Hank Arnolduseen partners with the Davis Auto Group



2010
Construction begins on the current Scougall building. Then in 2012 a grand opening was held for the new building.
